NE-Guard is a combination of probiotics designed to attack and destroy enteric pathogens including Clostridia, enterotoxigenic & haemorrhagic E.coli, Helicobacter, etc., through multidirectional target of action.

Clostridium perfringens-induced necrotic enteritis and related subclinical diseases have become economically significant problems for the poultry industry. Necrotic enteritis, an enterotoxemic disease caused by Clostridium perfringens, leads to the development of necrotic lesions in the gut wall, resulting in mortality of poultry. This disease is also multifactorial with complex and partially unknown epidemiology and pathogenesis. Bacitracin, lincomycin, and other growth-promoting antibiotics are commonly used to treat poultry suffering from necrotic enteritis. However, due to emergence of antibiotic-resistant strains of C. perfringens from chickens and turkeys, other non-antibiotic alternatives are being sought.

The strains in NE-Guard secretes a group of peptides and other natural agents which are inhibitory towards common enteric pathogens such as Clostridium perfringens, implicated in outbreaks of NE in chickens and Campylobacter spp. The DFMs in NE-Guard also helps to reinforce the microbial ecosystem, neutralise toxins,  stimulates antibody production and thereby helps to prevent the predisposing factors of Clostridial  infections.
